Hartnell words

I can just about imagine how a Hartnell-era Planet of the Dead would work, though the Doctor and companions wouldn't be able to interact with contemporary Earth. Imagine Ian and Barbara choosing to stay with the Doctor to help effect something and not going on the bus, and an entire episode (or maybe two) on the Tritovore ship trying to convince them that the TARDIS crew and the humans are non-hostile. Wormholes would perhaps be too fantastical for the Lambert period, however much they could be grounded in science...

I rather like the sound of that, much more so than what we actually got!

Tom

While I was pleased with Planet of the Dead, there is little to notice on a second or third viewing.

It is, isn't it? Colin's photomontage work is excellent, and there's more of it on his website. He did some fantastic covers when he was editing and publishing Circus in the 1990s - Sea Devils sitting reading newspapers in an alleyway, or a gaggle of Hermaphrodite Hexapods from Alpha Centauri pampering John Inman...
