News blackout

July 27th, 2005 (08:23 pm)

There's been a major evacuation on the underground and main line at King's Cross at 6pm tonight, my sister says - she was there; and a taxi driver said there was a shutdown at Victoria at 4.30.... nothing on the news media, however.

My sister heard a policeman ask someone on his mobile whether it was true that a 'bang' had been heard... the driver of her Victoria Line train said that there had been a security incident on a train at Highbury and Islington station.

Looks like neither the news nor the Transport for London website are going to tell us much - like you said, news blackout.

There was nothing more than "minor delays" on the Met line at Euston Square around 8:45, though it did seem very quiet.
