Doctor Who: review alert

September 15th, 2012 (09:14 pm)

I presume that I have the 3.30am BST slot again at Doctor Who Reviews, so expect an update then...

EDIT: Warning - it's somewhat OTT, if it does appear.

I look forward to it, although I may not get to see it until mid-week.

By the way, 'OTT' is Jewish slang for 'of the tribe' i.e. Jewish, which makes me wonder about the review: what makes it Jewish, and is it religiously or ethnically so and why only "somewhat"? (Sorry, it's late and I'm insomniac again!)

Someone has a thread going on Gallifrey Base about antisemitism in 'A Town Called Mercy' - I've not looked at it, though.

Really? I didn't notice anything (I'm not a member of Gallifrey Base, so I can't check it out), unless the parallel is Kahler-Jex as Mengele/Eichmann and The Gunslinger as Mossad with the Doctor implicitly rebuking the Israelis for placing Eichmann on trial and executing him. While that might be an inspiration, I wouldn't go so far as to say that the story is a statement on that topic.

Nor would I!
