An lengthy and probably overlong commentary-review in another place.

What was Russell T Davies' theory about Caecillius and Frobisher?

I think you're wrong that this was the first 'happy' story since Capaldi took over - I'd mention Robot of Sherwood and arguably Mummy on the Orient Express and In the Forest of the Night, even though the latter two were not 'comedy' episodes per se. Still, I enjoyed it a lot and am intrigued by where Ashildr's story is going; certainly the trailer for next week and the DWM preview suggest she still maintains Viking mores regarding other people's property...

Yes, you're right, of course. I tend to black out Robot of Sherwood because it's just too complicated. I think the other two are in different categories which have their own problems.

As for Ashildr's future, I can't possibly comment - yet!

Oh, and Russell hasn't disclosed his theory, only that it exists!

I confess I liked them a lot more than some of the 'serious' episodes e.g. Deep Breath, Inside the Dalek, Dark Water/Death in Heaven.

Mummy was my favourite story of the last season; and In the Forest of the Night has a bad press which is undeserved.
