Early evening at Nine Worlds

August 9th, 2013 (08:46 pm)

I managed in the space of one session allocation to drop in on the fabric writers and drink Night Vale tea (having no knowledge of this series beyond that it exists and that it seems to have become amazingly popular in the last ten days or so); say hello to an old friend at the door to the dealers' room; and catch the end of the Queers Dig Time Lords book launch panel, sans a supply of actual books. Now in retreat some miles east of the convention's Heathrow base, and reading for the rest of the evening.

ETA: mistakenly referred to Night Wave earlier; though a Night Waves fandom would be something.

Eta2: 'fabric' is of course what my phone's autocorrect makes of 'fanfic'.

Eleventh Doctor

I did wonder what a "fabric writer" was! I seriously thought it was perhaps a way of combining writing with sewing, dyeing or the like - very short stories embroidered on quilts, that sort of thing.

Thinking about it, there probably are such people.
